Scott and Kyoko met in Japan in 2006. Scott had been living there for almost three years trying not to get involved romantically as he intended to come back to Scotland to live and work. He had gone there in 2004 to learn Japanese while earning a living teaching English. He hoped it would help him in his career as a scientist. However one day he spied Kyoko across the room and wanted to meet her. He could not just approach her but fortunately he knew the chap sitting next to her. He came across to speak to this friend Mitchi, hoping he would be introduced to the girl (Kyoko). He was delighted when he got her number. He fell head over heels in love with her and managed to win her heart too. He also fell in love with the country and has taken a job there, working in Plasma technology. Kyoko is a pharmacist in their local hospital. They decided to get Married at 10.10 am on 10 /10/10 in his home village of Balfron, Stirlingshire, Scotland and celebrated their wedding at Ross Priory on the banks of Loch Lomond. A very short honeymoon was enjoyed in Glasgow staying at One Devonshire Gardens. They live and work in Fukuyama City, Japan. There were only 10 at the wedding the appointment with the registrar was at 10 am, Kyoko takes size 10 clothes and Scot size 10 shoes.
Scott and Kyoko chose a single tier chocolate truffle torte cake, covered in belgium chocolate paste, decorated with chocolate roses, decorated in gold. They also presented their guests with cookie favours decorated in chocolate and turquiose. They both look fabulous in the photo and I wish them many congratulations on their 10/10 wedding! Will I be making ten christening cakes???

Happy 21st birthday to the beautiful Kate. Smart, lovely charming, just like her mother really then! I have lots of luscious lemon cake in the freezer but the cupcakes went in a flash. Kate went for afternoon tea for her party. Champagne served in vintage china, bunting in the garden and a cake inspired by Kath Kidston fabric for her cake , accompanied by a cupcake tower of chintzy mini cupcakes, chocolate cupcakes, fairy cakes and french fancies. It was a lovely day, if a bit cold to spend too long in the garden. We were served the most delicious canapes, cucumber with smoked trout anf horseradish, mini nan with chicken curry , yoghurt and coriander, mustard and honey sausages and many more delights. these were provided my Sam Wallin, who provides bespoke canapes as well as a full catering service. she can be contacted at samantha.wallin@btinternet.com. thanks Sam, delicious

Has anyone seen the new Mitch Turner series "Cake Couture"? some lovely cakes but I have been rather disappointed in the amouny of "non cake" stuff. As someone who likes to bring in elements of the Bride's dress and flowers myself, I understand the importance of the "non cake" stuff, but please Mitch show us the cakes! I have had to rewind and pause to see them! very disapointing , give me Ace of Cakes anyday. By the way there is anew Ace of cakes book due to be published shortly, can'y wait. Some may find that quite sad but there you go, its on my Amazon christmas wish list(hint ! hint! JB)

The weddingof lesley and John was followed by a glorious honeymoon in Sharm El Sheik. Doesn't the bride look gorgeous. the wedding theme was ivory and brown with the flowers being cream and mango cala lillies that were carried through to the decoration on the cake. Lesly chose a four tier square cake with a selection of chocolate fudge cake and luscious lemon. Thanks for the photo Lesley, its lovely seeing the cake "in Action"
